Divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, behearded, survived. Here, curator Brett Dolman uses the eight rare 16 century portraits of his wives and daughters, assembled as part of the temporary exhibition 'Henry's Women' at Hampton Court Palace, to tell the story of Henry VIII and the Tudor saga. The exhibition was part of Henry VIII: heads and hearts, a year-long programme of spectacular exhibitions, events and celebratory activities marking the 500th anniversary of the mighty Tudor monarchs accession to the throne.

  • @potchammy Yes, they were.

  • Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard were cousins?

  • good but turn down the back ground music

  • Great video. Wow, did Henry actually die a Catholic (in effect)? How strange.

  • @avallonmist H 'loved' J because she gave him a E, why do people still think that H loved her? there is even a story that he orded c section on her after the child was still not born, that means that if its true he sacrificed J for E, ofcourse we dont know that for sure but imagine it, i woudnt put it past him.. if J had lived she would have been his queen for life but only because she bared a boy, if she would have gave him girls just like the other did she would have been easily recplaced

  • Utter chills at that lock of Catherine Parr's hair. Its hard to think of them as real people so to see that and examples of handwriting. Wow. I would have loved to see it all in person.

  • You don't mess with the Big Man!
