A new DVD to educate young people about the risks involved with vehicle crime was launched at 12:00pm on Monday, December 10 at Theatre Clwyd, Mold.
The DVD and associated toolkit is the latest resource of the Motor Education Scheme, a partnership scheme involving Wrexham and Flintshire Local Authorities, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service, North Wales Police and Danger Point, a local children's safety charity.
The main aim of the Motor Education Scheme is to try and reduce vehicle offending and road casualties in those aged between 17 and 25 -- the most vulnerable category of road users. The scheme has been running since 2005, and so far 100 young people have taken part in the programme.
The DVD and activity pack funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and local Community Safety Partnerships will allow many more young people to receive the life saving safety messages given through the programme.
Simon Smith, Chief Fire Officer of North Wales Fire and Rescue Service will be speaking and local Councillors, Assembly Ministers and Senior Officers from North Wales Police, North Wales Fire and Rescue service and Wrexham and Flintshire Local Authorities will be in attendance.
