This camping trip to Forked Lake in Adirondack State Park, New York in early July, 2011 is captured in video and choreographed to Dj Shah Pres. Magic Island Paradise Aly & Fila Remix. My partner and I chose site #63 for its remoteness. Beautiful mother nature greeted us 20 minutes upon arrival by splitting a spruce tree with a bolt of lightening just feet from our tent. The tree loomed overhead the entire week of our stay, and Joe swears it leaned closer toward our tent with each passing day. Featured in this production are the following:
Butter MIlk Falls, the Town of Long Lake, boating on Forked Lake, local wildlife, including a small family of ducks and one among hundreds of frogs that covered a pitch-black, rain soaked forest road in which I had to navigate at extreme velociity to reach the campground before pressing our luck and having to cross the lake in our tiny, inflatable Sea Eagle motor boat as lightening streaked across the sky. Ultimately, I did not drive fast enought and we had to wait until 1:30 AM for the lightening to stop. We attempted to our voyage in complete darkness, severe fog and one flashlight to guide the way. We passed site #63 several times, which was illuminated by three tiny solar powered decorative landscaping lights which we bought for $2 each at Walmart. These lights were clearly seen over a mile away. We were looking for a single, bright lantern which I left on as a beacon. Apparently, the lantern ran out. Words cannot describe the feeling reliveing stupidity when our boat touched the dock.

The climax depicts a park maintenance crew taking down the poor spruce at the last day of our journey. The tree completely covered the site as it hit the ground.

In closing I wish I never left. I will continue to wait patiently for another year to immerse myself in one of the most beautiful gifts to us from planet Earth.
