This is from the tape Grubby's Romance, when Grubby first meets a caterpillar named Karen and falls head-over-heels in love with her. I love this song because, one, Grubby is my favorite character in the entire series (that's why my name isn't BlueIlliop!), and two, the poor guy hardly ever gets recognition in the book series. This is literally the ONLY song that Grubby sings by himself uninterrupted by other characters and the ONLY time he gets some proper character development- which I find odd because Will Ryan's voice is just as phenomenal as Phil Baron's and you simply can't have one character without the other so he deserves equal credit! But yes... with all that said, this is another one of my favorite songs from the series and I hope you all enjoy watching/listening as much as I enjoyed making it! =)

**FOR MILL CREEK ENTERTAINMENT, ALCHEMY II, ETC.**
I believe that I am in the right with the Fair Use act by only including a brief clip from the television series at the end of this video. I do not/have never intended to upload full episodes of the series, as that would be blatantly preventing you from earning money and violating copyright. This, I firmly believe, does neither. However, if you are still upset with me for showing the clips, PLEASE let me know, and I will gladly remove the video and upload a version without bits from the TV series included. Thank you! -Blue

  • I didn't really do this at 9, but now I'm really appreciating the intricacies of Teddy and Grubby. For instance, notice how from 0:55 to 0:59 when he sings about Karen approaching him, his eyes get a little bit wider. Thanks to servo motors, that's possible, but Teddy and Grubby have so much detail built into them, I wonder how many people really appreciate this.

  • @pika62221 Oh yes, don't you just love it!? Pop in Teddy Ruxpin's Christmas sometime, and watch Grubby while Teddy's singing Twas the Night Before Christmas. When Santa falls down the chimney and the sound effect plays, Grubby gasps, and as Teddy begins describing Santa, Grubby looks up and down a lot, as if he's studying him!! It's incredible that they thought to animate little details like that.

  • Good job adding the request the video be removed, but be careful though. I had just a 30-second intro of a show- JUST THE INTRO, and youtube pulled it off, and put my account into a non-good standing. What's worse? The company who told youtube to pull it off doesn't even sell that version of the show!! They sell the '90's version, and I had the '80's version uploaded.

  • @pika62221 Yeah, I already have a strike against my account for uploading a song from the Teddy Ruxpin Sings Love Songs tape! That was back when Warner was going berserk though, so hopefully I'll be in the clear from now on. Thanks for the heads-up, though!

  • where did u have the grubby conected 2 teddy ruxpin? i thoght he cant work without teddy.

  • @applesocks89 Grubby does a cool gulp thing . It's amazing of how much time and hard work to get even the smallest detail

  • Lool at 1:07

  • I like that part where they sing together at the end. i've never listened to the tape, but considering she's a caterpillar, and the face she never reappears again, i've got a pretty good guess on what happens. also, it's a kids show, and karen's chest is a bit extreme for a kids show don't ya think?

  • Awww that was a lovely song

  • @blueoctopede Her name is actually Xena! She's claimed by me!

  • @blueoctopede Pure Disney style magic!

  • @blueoctopede I finally converted all my tapes to mp3's, and that's one of the ones I have. I haven't heard it in a while. Since they're mp3 now, I can skip ahead to that part, and see Grubby's reaction.

You know what I can't figure though? Why they put Grubby reactions into the first Lullabies, but not the second. After your video, I tried the same 2 that I have, and sure enough like yours, he reacts on the first, but is motionless (although sound comes out of his speaker) on the second.

  • @blueoctopede no problem!

The worst thing is that if I want to upload anything more that's not mine, I'd have to start a new account, as this one is on 2 strikes, and 1 more shuts it down. I have a TON of stuff I recorded back in the 80's, but I can't post it, becuase I risk this account being closed out on me.
