  • @vova47 Dude's still hanging around Pittsburgh. Apparently my uncle ran into him the other day when he played somewhere. This was just after he obtained this really rare copy of Eric playing a wonderful rendition of All Blues. He's pretty old, but he still makes appearances at random times.

  • Wonderful combination of inside-outside ideas from Eric &Co.

Blues in 7/4 back beat is not something you hear every day, but he seemed in complete command. Eric Kloss was a student of Sonny Stitt's.and a huge talent in his own right.

I wonder what happened to him?

  • I agree Tim...I get so tired of the "shop worn Trane licks" or the "flavor of the month" crap!

amazing how this sounds current still...it's like that Don Byas vid I posted a while ago from 1952! He sounds more "modern" than most players I hear today. I too hope Eric is well and happy wherever he is and whatever he is doing!!

  • One of the real contendors of the saxophpne. A sGREAT as any name now or then.

It sais a lot to listen to Eric-and hear PURE playing...not shop worn Trane or flavor of the month licks. One of the best ever.

I hope he's well in whatever he's doing in thisa life.
