Charlie Kunz was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1896 and He came to England in 1922 as a pianist.
Charlie's piano style remains unique, a relaxed flowing interpretation of popular melodies played with subtle soft and loud accents, a style which he called "melody and rhythm with expression".

The state of this record is not so good, further digital restoration has little sense and would make the recording worse.

  • I met Charlie Kunz in St Lawrences Hospital Chepstow in the early 1952 He was having a tendon operation. He was playing the Hamond Organ in the little chapel

  • I discovered Charlie Kunz on You Tube a couple years ago and wondered how I could have missed hearing him before ..... I could listen to his music all day!

  • Kunz was the master, also at the pedals. His dynamics were remarkable.
