Everyone knows that Josh + Car never equals problem-free road trip.

THIS is why it's an adventure, not just a trip.

Don't drive on random roads in the U.P. unless you know stuff about them or have some kind of 4WD/AWD vehicle with decent ground clearance. You'll get stuck, or smash a rock through your oil pan, or rip parts off your car.

We fixed his car for less than $10. One exhaust hanger and a 8 pack of assorted GM tree clips.

  • Yeah. . taking backroads in a car. . not a good idea. . hehee That is why we always go with one of our Jeeps hehe. You are better off using a normal UP Map when you are up there, then the GPS. :)

  • @WithOutTheSnowDogs Yeah... It wasn't that bad at all, and then got worse really quick. The day before though, we were on some 1-lane dirt roads with tons of rocks and mudholes, and the car handled it much better than expected, and it was fun, so we figured we'd be fine.

I was hoping to use a UP map, but the one I got from AAA still wasn't really good enough to give me much detail or even road names, so I was stuck using Google Maps. I'll be more wary of doing that next time.

  • @missingparts But like you said, it was part of the adventure!! I have a fun video of us going through a river with our jeep! The road was completely gone!

  • @WithOutTheSnowDogs Is the video on youtube? That would be cool to see. I'd like to do something like that in my Subaru someday, if I ever get it running again. Couldn't be a very deep river, but it would still be fun.

  • @missingparts The nice thing about the one in our video, it was about 90% Rock bottom. So we knew we wouldn't sink!

  • I know exactly where you were!! We went down that same last year!! There are a few waterfalls back in there!
