It is what it is man. Most of these tapes are REALLY old and the oxidation on them is comming off. Sadly it is comming off the audio track of the VHS tape so the VTR is constantly switching between Hi-Fi (Stereo) mode and Linear mode. Could be worse, the audio could drop out all together.
