Still, MKvsDCU is not canon MK game, so I'm fine for now.

But in the end of the movie you see Shinnok being proud of his son Shao Kahn, when he prepares to destroy Raiden "his week pathetic son" so the answer is yes

Shinnok is there father.

Yes i't all relates with the Mortal Kombat Annihilation the second artistic movie that was release on 21.1997 in USA. And a little with MK 4 that was release on 15. 1997 i say a little cos the storyline between the movie and MK 4 is not so well defined.

In MK 4 there is not a clue that Shinnok is there father, he appears like a elder good banished bay Raiden to spend eternity in the netherealm, for the crimes committed against his fellow elder goods.
