Bleeder

Bleeder. This is a very silly 7 minute short film created for the Bloodshots Canada 2009 48-hour horror short film contest. At the start of the 48 hours, we were assigned a subgenre, weapon, line of dialogue and prop, which were Body Horror, scissors, "What game are you playing", and a bottle of J&B whiskey respectively. Due to horrible unforeseen last minute computer problems, we submitted late, and were disqualified. My heart breaks.

The sound is pretty horrible, and for that, we apologize. Next time, we'll try to get a sound guy who knows how to do sound properly. And maybe buy a real microphone.

I'm not sure that handing this in on time would have helped. What we made wasn't really a horror film at all... though it does feature a great deal of blood.

I wanted to call this Bloodman Begins, imagining it to be a kind of Superhero origin story, but the rest of the team voted me down.

I now notice, in searching YouTube, that there was a Danish film with the same name as this, and uncomfortably similar title font. This, the kind of thing you don't have the will to search for on hour 45 of a 48 hour time limit. I guess I could change the title now, but that would make this something other than our failed 48-hour film attempt, and also, I'm too tired to re-render and reupload this damned thing again.

Simon was pretty insistent that we call this "Blood Type A" and then, at the start of the closing credits, we retitle it "Blood Type A ... for Awesome". Maybe this was the superior choice.
