Bungee Jump at Verzasca Dam

In southern Switzerland, after a 45min hike from Gordola, we came to Verzasca Dam. It is home to one of the worlds tallest and top-rated Bungee Jumps at a towering 720ft (220m).

This is the very jump location for the opening scene of the 007 movie "Goldeneye" where Bond has to jump down the same Dam and then use some awesome gadgets to make his escape. If I do this again next time I'm doing it in a Tux.

The jump itself is a thrill that you really should try. There is no physical pain from the bungee itself, actually it is quite gentle considering it stops a person from terminal velocity without death. You come to the edge of the platform and below you is nothing but air, hundreds of feet of air, and then jagged rocks. The view is amazing. Finally you come to the moment of glory, it's off the plank. Quickly your peripheral vision slightly blurs and you obtain an intense focus directly in front of you. The wall of the Dam is flying past you and the ground below is rushing to your face so fast that you aren't able to have any actual thought. You scream "YEAAAAH!" because all you think in your brain is "YEAAAAAH!" You just open those eyes and enjoy the ride.
