Very difficult to explain as it is so unique in both taste and texture. It's sticky but smooth and is delicious with most foods (personally I prefer it with cheese or toast.) The bottle says it's made of yeast extract which doesn't really help to explain it... It's lovely as long as you have only a thin layer depending on how acquired you are to the taste. It's really hard to explain without just saying "it tastes like marmite!" obviously being of no help whatsoever. It has a very unique taste and if you put a thin layer on your food item of choice then it's really good. It's quite strong, not sweet but also not sour as such (it's lucky I'm not being ambiguous here or else we'd all be confused ;) ) Goes really well with cheese which is what I tend to choose and is apparently made of 'yeast extract' (direct quote from the pot.) You put waaay too much marmite on there. That's why it tastes disgusting and looks like Nutella
