@knepri What do you mean by a normal C flute ? The flute used by virtually all Irish trad player is akin to the Baroque instrument ...if you can manage one of them you will be fine with the trad instrument ....some of them do take a bt of getting used to.
If you have a Boehm ...you will have some work to do...but it is possible to play on both.
