Part 2 of Bucky O'Hare for the NES. We tackle the barren, yet huge, Yellow Planet.

0:10 - Let's take a look at Blinky (Select switches characters). Blinky's shots arc downward a bit, making him good at shooting things below you. his shots also break bricks, but that's not relevant until Blue Planet. He can also fly, but that's not relevant until we get some Power Coins for him. His most important ability is that he's half the size of other characters. This helps a lot.
1:11 - You need Blinky to be powered up a bit more to get that 1-up.
1:47 - Riding the ships gets you through here quick and easy. Why I went back for the coin, I'll never know.
2:06 - There's a Power Coin up there, you need to be pretty quick to grab it. You can shoot out the asteroids. Oh, falling kills you. Just in case you couldn't figure that out.
2:14 - This is a frustrating, but pretty easy climb. Just keep an eye out for when to jump, and watch out for the shots.
2:47 - You need to jump on those small asteroids to get to the big ones. The whiz by in a pattern, but it repeats itself. Blinky comes in handy here, you can jet from big rock to big rock.
4:10 - Oh boy. The Roller Coaster of Doom. This looks hard, but it isn't. Just don't walk on the green floor there. It's not really there. Ride the cart until it slows down, then jump straight up. Then do it again. Then jump off the cart to the next cart before it falls. repeat, but it gets faster every time.
5:04 - This is where Blinky helps. Other characters need to duck under these spikes, Blinky can just stand and go under them. It makes it a lot easier.
5:14 - ...um...wrong button. Oops. See how dangerous it is for the big guys? Feel free to skip ahead.
6:12 - A better example of how Blinky's smallness helps.
6:38 - Um...yeah. I forgot to cut this out. I completely did this wrong. Go and get a drink or something, and come back at about 8:00, where I suicide to show you guys how to do it right. I mean, I could have beat the thing, but then you learn the wrong way to do it, and that never turns out right, does it?
8:05 - OK, here we go. First off, don't touch it, or you die. You start by killing the lower gun, otherwise (as you may have saw) it completely screws you up in the later part of the fight. Then you jump and kill the radar dish. This causes it to go nuts, charge at you (hop in the gap), then fire a laser (in the gap to avoid it, the laser is also instant death). In the gap between the charge and laser, shoot the top gun that fires missiles. You can also shoot upwards while it charges by. Once all the guns are gone, shoot it in the eye until it blows up. Note that if you're going in a different order than me, Jenny and her Crystal Ball do wonders in destroying this boss.
9:40 - A human? Aren't those the bane of furries everywhere? Relax...he's from our world. Willy is a boy genius that built some sort of very dangerous machine that sent him into another dimension. He's your classic Mary Sue Supergeek. And what kind of captors let their prisoners make weapons while in captivity anyways?

  • My friend managed to reach the second to last boss without getting hit even once! (about 12 years ago:p) His game copy was bugged so he dies in a single hit. Amazing how far he managed to go with that bugged version.

  • It wasn't bugged, it was pirated. Konami had some nasty anti-piracy measures built into some of their games, and in this one, a pirated version causes you to die in one hit.

Entering the password "HARD!" also causes the game to kill you with one hit.

Ahhh! What a dumbass! You almost had him, why did you try to jump on him?

  • I explained that in the comments. Yes, I almost had him, but this is a walkthrough, and I was beating him the "wrong way", so I killed myself to do it again the "right way". 6:38 to 8:00 is just one big mistake I forgot to cut.

  • This game had some awesome music from the NES, I remember those games from the NES had the most awesome tunes.

They just don't make games like this anymore today, although I do own Xbox 360.

I remember owning both the game and toys as a kid. Me and my brother used to get stuck in many of the levels playing Bucky O' Hare on NES!
