------------------

Happiness

Happiness is two kinds of ice cream
finding your skate key, telling the time
Happiness is learning to whistle
tying your shoe for the very first time
Happiness is playing the drum in your own school band
and happiness is walking hand in hand

Happiness is five different crayons
knowing a secret, climbing a tree
Happiness is finding a nickel
catching a firefly, setting him free
Happiness is being alone every now and then
and happiness is coming home again

Happiness is singing together when day is through
And happiness is those who sing with you

Happiness is morning and evening
Daytime and nighttime, too
For happiness is anyone and anything at all
That is loved by you

  • Amazing how one of the most simple songs ever written, with basically nonsense lyrics can both capture the meaning of this comic/series so perfectly and be so sad at the same time.

And this version just captures the emotion of this song even more than the original, and THAT was already pretty good.

  • Now if you will excuse me, I have to cry.

  • This song holds the answer to happiness and the basic point of Charlie Brown. The stories were everyday stories. No one was in danger, no one was violent (except for Lucy), no adult problems such as war, famine, secret agents and the other stuff you see on TV, just childhood problems. And this song (and Charlie Brown in general) makes you look back on those times fondly as you realize that no matter how big the problem seemed at the time, it really was small and didn't mean much.

  • Love this song, the way it was arranged, and sung!

  • I've been looking for this song FOREVER! We used to sing this all the time in grade school.

  • Love this version! love the video too!

  • Three great artists make a right!

  • ..tears rolled down my eyes while listening to this song..well, that's HAPPINESS..tears of joy..knowing what life is all about..thanks to David and Al..

  • sweet song the vid reminds me of child hood days too
