Enjoy this exciting tutorial from http://www.allfreeknitting.com/Knitting-Tutorials. Today, along with Allison Keough, we will learn how to execute the Cable Cast On Method.

The Cable Cast on Method is another method to casting on your first row of stitches. This method uses both needles to cast on stitches, unlike other casting on methods, such as the Single Cast-On. This method allows for even stitches to be placed on the needle, but if you have too much tension on the yarn it will be too tight. After using this stitch I see that it's beneficial primarily when you may have to use every last bit of the yarn on your project. You do NOT NEED to have a tail end for this casting on method. It's also incredibly similar to the knit stitch, except you transfer the stitch to the left hand needle.
