Fue Fukigawa: an enka song and slideshow of Japan

I took an IC recorder with me last time I went to karaoke with a friend, and recorded her singing enka. (In my opinion, she gets better as she goes along in this song. Maybe she was warming up?) Having just discovered the basic video editing software on my computer and having nothing better to do with a lot of photos I have taken over the last year, why not make a slideshow of Japan set to Japanese music?

I also discovered that there is not a lot of information available online in English about enka, so if anyone has any questions that aren't answered by watching other YouTube videos and Wikipedia, contact me and I will see if I can find an answer

Thank you! I found that a lot Japanese won't admit to knowing about or liking enka because it would imply that they are old. Also, it can be similar to the situation of a lot of Americans not liking country-western music. These kinds of music have a special sound that some people love and others just can't stand.

After making this recording, my friend participated in local sining competitions and on NHK Nodo-jiman. I am working on getting those posted too.

This sounds similar to classical arabic music, but more controlled. Very beautiful.

どいたしまして！ Yeah i agree with you. I tried to make a similar kind of comparrisment. I don't like the old traditional music myself so i think that's kind of the same situation. Just her parents aaaaaaaaaalso don't like enka. But it's a good tease hahaha. Looking forward to see the videos from that! Grtz Jacob
