Jagmeet 'Hoodini' Singh is a 19 year old emcee, poet and spoken word artist out of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. This artist of Punjabi Sikh heritage makes music that cannot conveniently be boxed up into a specific category - at times it is free-spirited and celebratory, at other times serious and urgent; but above all, it is always conscious and lyrical. The art-form known as Hip Hop is meant to be socio-politically conscious, creative, and positively enlightening - and this is exactly what this UCLA sophomore presents to the world through his craft.
Hoodini gathers his inspiration from a diverse number of sources, including the likes of Bhai Dharam Singh ji Zakhmi and Jatha, Bhai Avtar Singh ji and Jatha, A Tribe Called Quest, Slick Rick, Common Sense, and Sikh Knowledge from Montreal. Currently, Hoodini is working on a number of projects - including an album through the Rukus Avenue record label, as well as several mixtapes in collaboration with local Los Angeles artists.
