I'd like to point out that the Catholic Church used the same method of statement-making while conquering the New World. In the town of Cholula, Mexico, the largest pyramid in the world is dominated by a large church dedicated to Mary. Neither Christianity, nor Islam, nor Judaism is guiltless. They have all used the same method, as have most mahor religions in the world.
