I own a Ronin, Cold Steel, a few Hanwei, a Last Legend, and a few second hand katana. The Ronin has become my go-to cutter at home and class and is just a superb all around sword. I love mine.

Would you send me the rest of the destroyed blade?
Always wished for one..

What are these swords made out of? Regular carbon steel or tamahagane?
TheLoserKingdom 2 weeks ago
@TheLoserKingdom Carbon steel. I can't afford to destroy tamahagane blades. Tamahagane, while beautiful, is outmatched by good high carbon steel and many of the hybrid steels.

@Roninkatanas Really? I didn't expect that. Though I though Tamahagane was a made out of high carbon steel with an inside of low carbon steel.

@TheLoserKingdom Tamahagane is made out of iron sand. The resulting ore is folded to remove the remaining impurities. Modern steels are already pure and require no folding at all. 1095 bar stock that is unfolded will retain most of it's carbon. Folding would reduce the carbon count.
With my laminated line, I made the decision not to fold them, as I wanted the carbon count to be higher in the jacket steel. Lamination places different steel types in different areas.
