This is based on christianity, alsan is a picture of Jesus. Reason why aslan did what he did in this movie was because of the same reason God does things. To teach us that we can only rely on him. That is all haha

@happygofloppy Good for you dear, good for you.
-
@numbuhilostcount "can I come up with a be one?" what? and yes I probably with the same time frame as them. I think anyone above the age of 8 could. Possibly even you.
-
@happygofloppy Well can YOU come up with a be one?
-
"not everything happens the same way twice" maybe the single shittest philosophical statement ever
-
@Pandalady366 Amen. Aslan is just like Jesus, trust in him and you will see the truth.
-
I love how Aslan roars right in Lucy's face at the end. If it's loud enough to wake her friends up, I guess she's pretty much deaf, now.

@4go10soul If you're really interested in an answer to what the philosophy behind the scene is, and why Aslan does not simply show up at the beginning, CS Lewis wrote a book called Till We Have Faces that addresses the question of why God does not impose himself on the "story" of human history more decisively. Now you may no agree with him, but there is a rationale. He also wrote several books on the problem of evil. But again, that's just if you really want an answer.

@pandalady366 hahaha you are absolutely correct, C.S Lewis is a christian and im sure that Aslan depicts jesus christ himself in the series.

what is the song in this scene?

This WILL end up on my ipod<3
i don't understand the logic that you are talking about at all?
can you atleast explain your position? or rather...the logic behind this scene?

I wish I could, but English is not my mother language and it makes me tired to translate my reasoning. You have to take into account at least this:
1. Narnia stories are myths for children and grown up in the same time;
2. One of the subject of books is the fear that man has when he interacts with God (he is like a lion, it is not easy to be in front of a lion without beeing afraid);
3. Lewis had fear and hate for God when he was a young man, because his mother died when he was a boy.

About what I said, you can read The Lion the Witch... and Prince Caspian. Or if you want the same logic in a story written for grown ups, the best book to read is "Till we have faces (A Myth retold) "

Ok, you don't like the idea that it shows.
But I don't agree with you.
This scene is not the same as in the C.S. Lewis book, but it represents well his philosophy. It's not a stupid scene, it's a hard thing to say to children and a hard thing to understand. You can disagree, but it doesn't mean that it's stupid...

what philosophy? the philosophy that things don't happen the same twice? that's bullshit. especially in this case. because TECHNICALLY he could have come right at the start, and had all the reasons to do just that. the only reason he didn't do it was because he is too powerful and that would mean the movie would end in 5 scenes.
so philosophy or no philosophy. this is a HUGE plot hole

I say it again: you don't like the idea, but you have to read the Narnia books to understand the logic. I think Lewis himself could agree with you when he was a young man. But he changed his mind and wrote about it in many of his books. It's fun to see that after so many years a small piece of a movie can start an harsh discussion here on. I think Lewis should be happy to discuss about this subject. Unfortunatly he is death and I am not clever enough to do it.
