http://www.pbs.org/frontlineworld/stories/bribe/ President JImmy Carter and others recall the hot politics surrounding the first anti-bribery legislation and those who opposed it. The clip is part of an ongoing FRONTLINE and FRONTLINE/World project examining the global impact of bribery and increased international efforts to police corruption, called "The Business of Bribes." The unfolding online investigation will lead up a FRONTLINE documentary, "Black Money," airing April 7 on PBS.
Bribery. Seems that it's okay for lobbyists to bribe the Peoples' representatives. Where is the DOJ on the issue of lobbyists on the Hill?

I lived through the Carter Administration and at the time thought he was an ineffective president. It was my niavee political awareness that caused this impression and only NOW do i appreciate what he tried to do.
It was the corporate puppets who masquerade as our representatives in Congress who derailed Mr. Carters good intentions...causing him to look bad.
It was Reaganomics and his trickle-down policies that started this country on the downward spiral we see today.

Nowhere is it cast in stone that corn flakes are even nutritious, let alone essential for aiding easier bowel function!

You are way off about Jimmy Carter. He is an admirable man indeed. I look at what he has accomplished after his presidency and conclude that not one of the Presidents still living have served their country as Carter has. Maybe you don't think he was a great President or don't agree with his politics, but calling him a loser is downright petty.
By the way, the President of the United States' full name is Barack Hussein Obama. I never heard George W Bush being referred to as Walker (anglo) Bush.

Everything is called being like a war these days. Reviving the economy is a war, the war on terror, the war against drugs, the corporate wars, etc., etc. Everyone can justify reprehensible actions by saying they are at war. Everyone can keep themselves in power and on the job by saying they are fighting the war. Who cares if our participation in corruption keeps the corrupt in control? Who cares what practicing corruption does to us? There's only winners and losers. That's all there is, right?

47f0 wisely notes that the business of the world simply cannot be too ethical. Business tactics, like war, will not succeed if bridled by the kind of ethics Jimmy Carter expected. Jimmy Carter is a very good man, but I think sometimes that is precisely what made him a poor president.
