Snow in NYC on June 2, 2008

I looked out the window of my 5th floor loft on Lafayette Street between Astor Place and East 4th Street in Manhattan at about 6 pm and snow was coming down pretty heavy. I stuck my head out the window to get a better look (oblivious to the idea that this might be some toxic fallout) and saw a film crew at street level blowing fake snow through a giant fan. I headed down to the street to get a better look and shoot some video of it. Notice the two guys doing their best to stop pedestrians from walking through the scene. Minutes later they let everyone pass by. It was a shoot for the upcoming film "The Rebound" with catherine Zeta Jones and Justin Bartha.

I didn't see Justin or Catherine Z.J. but it was a blast watching this. It'll be interesting to see the scene in the movie when it comes out. Also just fyi for film fans, the big street level windows on the far corner that are all white - that's an empty space that used to be Tower Records/Video that they used for the scenes when Will Smith goes to the video store in "I Am Legend."

they were waving people down and stopping them - those who didn't notice a film was being shot when they happened to walk up on the scene. they were also waving because they were trying to keep from yelling "HEY!" in the middle of the shoot. interesting tidbit - the store diagonally across the street with the high white blocks in the windows is the abandoned tower records store which is the video store that the will smith character went to all the time in "i am legend."
