Thousands are feared dead after Haiti's deadliest earthquake in over two centuries. The Prime Minister of Haiti said that he feared an earthquake which devastated Port-au-Prince could have killed "well over 100,000" people. According to the Red Cross, more than three million people have been affected and over six hundred thousand reportedly injured. The quake measuring seven on the Richter scale destroyed the Presidential Palace Most of the island's infrastructure has been severely damaged. The island state is said to be suffering 'a catastrophe of major proportions'. With communication links on the island disrupted, people are desperately trying to contact their relatives.
