@jaaus , given that the eventual winner actually received the highest score of the evening, Prejean was lucky that she made it all the way to second place. Competing in a pageant is a lot like a job interview. You have to play by the rule of the game and not say anything to give your potential employer to say no to you. Apparently, Prejean's conviction conflicts with what the job entails.

I mean... i understand why this brought up so much conflict, but then again, she was standing up for her beliefs, she was wrong to say "in my country..." but if she was raised that way "in (her) family" then, she was raised that way...and to stand up for her beliefs is completely commendable, even if people don't agree with her, she still stood by her beliefs, and that should be commended not criticized.
