This video will help future and current Drift HD170 owners with some often asked questions. It's not rocket science I know but I'm just trying to help as always. Feel free to post video responses or ask other questions.

  • Once you pair the remote to the camera can it still be operated by another remote that isn't paired with it? I thought the point of using the pair feature was to keep another remote from operating your camera. Thanks for the great video, it makes this simple camera even easier to operate.

  • @C14bagger ....no once you pair the remote it will be only activated by that remote.

You are right....the purpose is to keep other remotes from activating your camera.

  • Hey, I just bought this camera some time ago, and it works really well. The only problem is that this is what happens when I record at 720p 60fps/50fps: The image becomes purple-ish. In 720p 30/25fps and in 1080p it works great. I'm not sure if it is a defect in the camera or if this has happened to other people with this/a camera and if it's fixable. Can you/anyone tell me more about this? Please check out my video to see what I'm talking about.

  • @vanssk8hi ....do you have the latest firmware update from their website??

  • Glad I came across this video...My drift should be coming in the mail in the next few days so this will be very helpful

  • I seen a video when downshift83 had his drift cam on the left side of his camera. did he have to the camera to wear the screen would be facing his helmet to get it to show right instead of it showing upside down?

  • @FrodeNo ....(+) is for dusk and darker environments, where as (-) is for bright conditions like sunlight on snow.

  • @DarkFlightVlogs

    Thanks

Yes, I'm using "night-mode", but I'm not satisfied with the quality of the shots.

With enough artificial lighting, it's ok, but as soon as there's lack of such.. well..

I've tried the different "exposures".. but can't see any difference.

Will + or - be better in low lighting?

    I appreciate your input!

    Thanks!

  • @FrodeNo ....also check out one of my latest videos where I compare the new Drift HD against the Stealth at night. It's all raw footage and you can see my video is "grainy" as well when in darker areas but gets clear when under the street lights etc...

  • @FrodeNo .....yeah the video is "grainy" if there is not a lot of artificial light around to help the camera. I think they intended it to be used in areas with lots of street lights, lights on buildings etc.... and not really for a single light bulb indoors. I assume you are using "night-mode"?

Shouldn't matter if it's in 30fps/60fps ...I use 720p 60fps in night-mode but I always try to film in areas that have lots of artificial light.

Exposure is for video as well....
