Man, I feel sorry for you. It is ART/SPIRITUAL expression on the highest level. I played with Muhal in Kalamazoo, in 1975, he don't hit any random notes, he knows exactly what he is doing! Muhals compositions are not easy! If you don't get it, I don't know what to tell you, other than keep listening, untill you do.

Watch the people walk out of this fraudulent performance.. There is no art here. He's just hitting random keys. It means nothing to him. He's not expressing anything. It's an act. It's not music. And it's not art, either.
Muhal IS the AACM. I played on stage with him in Kalamazoo, Mi; with Roscoe Mitchell also. Also with Patrick Brennan & John Lindberg's first gig on bass. Muhal told me I had a NICE TOUCH on drums. All through my career of playing with dim wits for money, I will never forget Muhal's comment. Jesus, that is enough to justify my whole life on this planet. The greatest, awe inspiring musician I was ever on stage with. A total genius. Please, let's all recognize this innovator.
Thanks so much for adding this. There's so little available footage of this man available - it's nice to come across some, and of such recent vintage, too!
