Wear those sexy pumps

After some students attended an Eric Whitacre conctert in Minneapolis (March 2009), their chorus teacher, Mr. Fowle, was presented with a gift...

He was given some Whitacre sheet music. One of the pieces, "Sleep," was signed by the composer himself. Eric Whitacre was also asked to write "Wear those sexy pumps," (inside joke...) which he graciously agreed to do.

A video of the signing of the sheet music will be uploaded later on (hopefully). It's pretty great. Thank you Eric Whitacre and thank you Jacob Fowle.

Did you guys perform it for him yet or will you eventually. it's a really great piece, and it was cool to perform after he taught it to us.

He won't let us perform it because it's "too hard" :( But some of us learned it on our own so that we could prove to him that we could actually do it. He was still all NO, so we aren't doing it. Boo. You're lucky you guys actually got to do it though. I love Whitacre music.

Yeah, and we just aren't as good without Mr. Fowle, but we manage. What school is this at anyway, from the few vids I've seen I'm pretty sure I know no one from this school, so I was just wondering.

That's cool, I think eventually he would come around to doing it, he does love the peice after all. I mean i think we only did it at our school because it was his last year, even though he was directing what was considered the worse glee club, but he made us end up being the better one.

And yeah I had never heard any Whitacre before that but its an amazing piece.You may think we were lucky to perform it, but you guys are lucky as hell to have Mr. Fowle, the guy we have is no comparison at all
