correct there're 8 portuguese country and cape verde is one of them, so that mean cape verde were colonize by portuguese with mean portuguese were there first... many of the portuguese didn't bring there wife to the island so they ( the man) had kids with the slaves that's why most cape verdean is light skin.... and by the way I was born in cape verde and grew up there only been here for six year...

no, the islands was very well inhabited, way before the portuguese. Because the history u speak from is european, which didnt consider africans to be human. Like the way they discovered America, they so called discovered Cape Verde. But since cape verde has been mentioned threw African history, even in Ethiopia, we know people was there. They also would like us to believe that we had no knowledge of navigation. But we had ships and was traveling to America way before columbus.
