  • Great interview, Jeff, but urgh, the vicarious embarrassment of hearing Klaus struggling for words was almost unbearable for me at times. Can you relate to that at all? I’m asking because I might just feel this way since I am a native German speaker as well.

Aaaanyhow, that’s quite the entertaining podcast you’ve got here. This is actually the first episode that I’ve listened to and I only discovered it because of you recently plugging it on Nerd Alert. I’ll stay tuned, I think.

  • @MoaiMaea Klaus' German is significantly better than my english and he nor you have reason to be embarrassed. I'm embarrassed I can't speak any other languages!

Thanks for listening, glad you enjoyed.

  • @jeffrubinjeffrubin gah obviously I got it backwards. Klaus' english, my German. You get the point.

  • I do although the sentence is way funnier the other way around ;>

But yeah, if you put it that way ... I guess you’d have to imagine listening your parents mangling another language (in which you are fluent) in front of a native speaker. That’s kinda how it is for me. Although I realize that I am certainly doing wrong by Klaus with this comparison. Ignoring his pronunciation, he did pretty well especially considering the circumstances, giving a “live” interview and what not.

  • HOW DID I ONLY JUST NOW FIND THIS?!

  • Our family has been playing Settlers of Catan for years; it's my favorite board games. We are boardgame geeks who LOVE German board games!

  • I love how philosophical he gets at 26:22

  • I'm watching this on Linux. The intro is no longer true.

  • I'm listening on my iMac soooo intro is still true! :) Welcome to uTubes!
