@MatjazL1 Of course it's rational to care how one looks - at least to a certain extent. Apperance determines how other people view us and make initial assumptions, it also makes one more attractive (with obvious benefits). Taking this to obsessive levels is probably counter-productive, however.

There seem to be a lot of irrational memes in the "looking good" business ... Or is that just my narrow way of looking at things?
So my question is : Do you think it is rational to worry about looks in any way, at all?
ps. I wasn't really sure where to post this - I hope it's OK if I posted it here. :) It is posted in three comments because it was too long for just one - feel free to delete if it messes up the comment section :).

However some irrational memes seem to spread by making their hosts "letting other people know how they feel about their looks" (for example some girls making other girls feel bad, because they don't wear the coolest brand of clothes, and in that way making them buy those clothes and making other girls feel bad because they don't wear them ect. ... - or what ever.)

@LulieTanett Thanks! I like your views on the subject ! :)
I probably liked "People don't know how good-looking they are" the most , since I sometimes find myself thinking exactly the same way.
Great workshop! :)
I have one (off topic) question : "The romance discussion" was mentioned many times- what was this romance discussion all about? :)

@MatjazL1 Thanks!
Yeah, that was an 'in-dicussion' with our group. The basic argument was that I was saying I suspect romance is bad, and that everything that's good in it can be found elsewhere (like in friendships, etc.). They were saying I was just defining it as bad. More of my thoughts on romance can be found here: lulie.livejournal. com/tag/relationship%20theory (remove space)
