  • I think the unusual fallboard decal is the style used on pianos in England. American pianos always say "Pianola Piano" or "Duo-Art Pianola" or just "Duo-Art" The fact that the fallboard says Pianola Piano and Duo Art makes me think the piano is English. Also, didn't all upright players have a key lock feature to help fast repetition?

  • @AeolianHall1 Not all players have a key-lock mechanism, and on the English uprights (like on mine) the word 'duo-art' is on the wooden rail just above the keys, not on the fallboard. I still think it's all american, I'll ask next time when I visit there which should be in october.

Definetly American. I bet it is a Style37 as well. it is the export model. Expression box acc side has a 5th accordion pneumatic as well. I have seen and rebnuilt a few of these andI still have one here.

  • @berntd

I didn't even notice the 5th accordion pneumatic.... how is it operated? by some sort of crash-valve principle?

  • geesh i can watch this play all day long, hope mine sounds this good when its done.

  • me too ;-)

  • Voodoo! witchcraft!!! But I like it!

  • great video....thanks for showing all the working parts...

  • One can only be glad listening to that kind of music!

  • The 'expression' system is brilliant: basically a 4-bit digital to analogue converter. I wonder if this is the first use of the principle? Many years before the invention of pulse code modulation for electronic signals anyway!

  • My roll of this fell to pieces!! - I've just bought a Steck 65/88 note player to restore, & i'm lucky enough to own a 1926Weber full Duo-Art upright. a great arrangement. Thanks!
