All you need to do basic things is 1.3Ghz. That is the whole point of this laptop is to last a lot longer than others, so youre sacrifcing speed for duration you can say. You wont get a CULV with 3Ghz..thats now how it works. Now this is dual-core which will make it a bit faster, instead of the slow Atom cpu series (which suck). Plus this laptop has Turbo33. Which will overclock your cpu to ~1.77Ghz.

it isnt really that bad, ofc if you need to edit videos or another CPU demanding programs, you probably won't want this, but its thin, its light, it has a good battery, i want to make clear this: 12 hour my ass lol. it could last 12 hours i guess... but with effing lit close xD, no srly you would need to use the lowest procesor, lowest brightness, no wireles... you wouldn't trully use it. i'd like to add that i had troubles turning this off in battery saving mode. it just doesn't turn off...

i totally agree with you, Asus is trully and amazing company. It looks like they just have a laptop which fits everyone necesities for a VERY reasonable price. and they try not to sacrificatee anything. i have a 50UL i think its VT because mine has 500 gb "ram" lolz joke. at first i was very scared of the processor but, it simply does what it has to do XD, i dun know how. also the 4 ram is very handy. tho battey isnt really 12 hour. lol who uses it with low proc, no wireless and no brightness...

Dell has multi touch trackpad as well as Acer, Toshiba. but Asus is beast and is best windows company IMO
