A before O or up u go
so no u turn off the acetylene first then oxygen
-
thanks

@441MPYSstihl So you shut the Oxygen off first huh? Does the fire go out?
-
@joxer80909 I agree. My shop teacher used to bust our butts for making acetylene smoke though. If you just crack the oxygen valve a little, then the acetylene when you lite it, it will not smoke. When you turn off the acetylene first, it will pop, but so what. It keeps the soot from gooking up the tip!

@luthmhor The Oxygen is supposed to be opened all the way to prevent up to 2000 lbs pressure from riding on the stem seal and blowing past it eventually. The acetylene is lower pressure...

You have the crescent wrench backwards when using it. The movable jaw is not meant to carry the load. Flip it over and you would appear to know what you're doing.

I set it all up right but when i went to add some oxygen the torched popped and shut off. I dont know what i did wrong. Could you make a video on what you do after you light the torch?

Dry leaves and direct sunlight. Dude you scare me.

ay a good tip is when u screw all the stuff togeather...spray soapy water on all the connections. to insure that there are no leaks...ive had these go up in smoke and fire before..
I've added annotations to address two frequent comments. First, I was wrong to open the acetylene cylinder. It's dangerous and unnecessary. Don't do that.
And second, as some commenters have pointed out, my torch has built-in flashback arrestors. If yours doesn't, add some.
