These dramatic and colourful recordings were made when Stokowski was a Guest Conductor with the New York Philharmonic. The original lacquer sources used for this CD reveal a wider dynamic range than was evident on the commercially issued LPs and 78s.

    I absolutely agree with you, the middle part is my favorite when the violas, and the cellos sing becuase they sounds so beautiful when they are played together ^_^
