This is my first time doing this boss, this fight is challenging and very intense, if it's not with all the ICC gears we have, this boss could have been harder than Lich King.
Once you touched the boss and start the first encounter, you have only one hour to attempt him. If your raid cannot defeat Alagalon within one hour, he will vanish and de-spawn until next raid lock out.
~DPS READ HERE~
There are 3 things you need to worry about, "Cosmic Smash", "Collapsing Star" and "Black Hole".
1. Cosmic Smash: A meteor strikes from the bottom of the platform. This smash does fire Area of Effect damage. Before the smash actually occur, there will be a red void zone appear on the platform, marking the impact point of the smash. The further you are from the impact point, the less damage you will take. Whenever there is a red mark near you, you must run away from it as far as you can. For instance, if a mark spawned under the boss, all melee DPS must run towards the edge of the room.
2. Collapsing Star
A drifting small star that will create a black hole upon death. Unless you are told otherwise, do not attack those stars. Leave those stars alone, and stay away from them as far as you can throughout the whole fight.
3. Black Hole
A black void zone that appears on platform when a collapsing star is killed. The dark area around the black hole will send you into a parallel void zone. Normally, you do NOT want to step into any of those, or you will die (p.s. 1). When Alagalon start to cast "Big Bang", step inside to one of the Black Hole. Step into black hole will avoid you from being one shot by Alagalon's "Big Bang", however, it will reset boss's threat table as well. Therefore, once you get out from the black hole (You will be automatically teleport out of the void zone after Big Bang finish), wait for a few seconds for tanks to build threats again, if you are Hunter or Rogue, trick or misdirect will help a lot.
~ Collapsing Star Duty READ HERE~
I was very "lucky", being the only range DPS that have a mic is really hurting my head. In short, I was on the Star duty. Once awhile in the fight, Alagalon will spawn 4 collapsing stars, they will lose 1% of their health every second. When collapsing stars die, each of them will deal 17,000 shadow damage to EVERYONE in the raid. If all 4 stars explode at the same time, about 68,000 shadow damage is going to kill all raid members outright. In addition, it will spawn a void zone called "Black Hole", which sucks nearby players inside.
In short, the Star duty range DPS must:
1. Kill all collapsing stars, one at a time.
2. Call out on Vent to notice raid healers the incoming damage.
3. If a player stand too close to a dying collapsing star, you must mark it and call it out so they won't get suck in.
I believe that explains why my DPS was that low during this encounter, not to mention this is my first time.
~Note~
We got this boss down on 5th attempt, with 22 minutes left. Happy that I finally got my title, good fight, another beautiful encounter designed by Blizzard.

Yah I downed all of ulduar on my main lock, and I must say ulduar was my favorite experience this whole expac, its beautiful and thank blizzard for putting a titan zone called uldum in cataclysm
