  • I have a Little Phatty and love the sounds you are doing! I assume you made most of them and are not using the presets? Would you be able to share the patches?

  • @Jikodis Thanks - these are tweaked presets - sorry, but I didn't write down or store what I did in this demo. Also, keep in mind that I am using a delay/reverb unit as well...

  • Hi, I've been watching your demo videos of the moog LP and the DSI mopho. I was looking at getting a slim phatty but the price of the mopho makes it a tempting option. How would you say they compare?

    Thanks

  • @GearTutorials Both are true analog synthesizers but sound very different. For people who absolutely have to have "the Moog sound," then the Little Phatty is a must. The Mopho is an affordable analog option - perhaps buy one of those to start with and see how it goes. The Moogs are somewhat pricey for what they do.

  • Wow the original Blue LP they look nice with that color, i dont much care for the new stage 2 LP with its orange/red thing going on

  • @Taud By the way, this is the Bob Moog Tribute edition - only 1,400 were made and sold globally.

  • @fooloof I never have been a big Moog fan, and never had a desire to have a MInimoog. These days, I don't really have use for any synth that doesn't have MIDI and patch memory. I bought the Moog LP (and still have it as of this writing) with the thought that someday I might upgrade to a Minimoog Voyager. I guess I have never thought it was worth the money to do so. Just my two cents.

  • @antoninprochazka The Little Phatty is VCO. It's just a new design that's stable and self-tuning. It's NOT a DCO.

  • Just bought a LP. I can say that it is worth the price. I've never encountered anything in my 19 years of playing that can compete with a Moog.

  • @Utubesuxmycock why use a moog as a midi controller?

  • i found the presets (factory presets) are dreadful and off-putting. Thank heavens I got past those. The Little Phatty is probably closer in spirit and playability to the Minimoog, than the Voyager is. Voyager = Moog IIIC. Phatty = Minimoog. IMHFO

  • @keybdwizrd That makes sense. Sometimes I like to start from the presets and go from there. I really want some sort of analog effects unit. It really accentuates things well. Would like to have a Roland RE-501 someday.

  • @Utubesuxmycock Yessir

  • so im kinda confused

i read under the specs the phatty can be used as a midi controller aswell

    is that true?

  • its nice, but could have been a lot more phat with a vco instead of dco... I wonder why moog or smith don't make a new vco synth... you would think there are still some inovative things to do with vco... for the moment i just keep with vintage synths, waiting for the moment when a new interesting vco synth enters the market...
