I Fell For My Bestfriend (A Christian Beadles love Story) Chapter 5

Alex's POV:
We walked to the food court and Jeydon was giving Kayla A piggy back ride. We decided on subway (mmm I love subway) and ordered. I just noticed Jeydon hasn't really been talking that much today. It worries me when he doesn't talk, it usually means something's wrong, and I better talk to him.
We got out food and went to a table and ate. Connor was telling us about what our neighbor Devin was telling him about school. Devin's 7 and the twins are starting pre school this year. Apparently Devin was telling the twins scary stories about teachers.
We finished eating and threw our trash away. We were walking to Different stores with Kayla on Jeydon's shoulders and Connor holding Courtney's hand. It was so cute; Jeydon and I were walking behind Courtney and Connor so I could talk to him.
"Hey Jey?" I asked "is something wrong? I looked up at him considering he's 1 or 2 inches taller than me
Jeydon and Kayla looked down at me "jeywon, is somethin won?" Kayla asked being the curious little girl she is
"Um well actually there kinda is something wrong, you know my moms boyfriend?" he asked me in a quite voice
"Yeah? What about him?" I questioned, I mean he's a really nice guy and makes his mom really happy but why is he upset about him?
"My moms getting married to him" he said with no expression
"Omg that's amazing!" I said a little too excited. I stopped and looked at him again "wait, what's so bad about that?"
"It's always been just me and my mom, and now their gonna get married and he's gonna move in, it's just gonna be so different" he said taking Kayla off his shoulders.
I actually kinda feel bad for him but im happy for his mom. (http://tinyurl.com/3n8dkud Thom (mom's boyfriend)) Thom always tries to bond with Jeydon and have somewhat of a father son relationship but Jeydon wont budge. I understand completely but I wish he would just try to get along with him, nothing more.
Nothing really happened for the rest of the day. We just went in and out of random stores buying only a few things. We went to hot topic, Spencer's (probably not the best place to take 4yr olds lol) the pet store because Kayla and Courtney kept bugging us about seeing the puppies, game stop, well really we went to about every store in the mall, except for the ones for weird stuff like lab coats and antiques and stuff like that that we had no interest in.
Now it's about 4pm and we are back in my driveway. I ask Jeydon and Courtney if they wanna stay for a little bit but Jeydon said that he has to be home for dinner with Thom and his mom. So it's just me and court.
We head up to my room and Courtney plops down on my bed and turns on the radio and her favorite singer is playing, of coarse the one and only Justin Bieber, Blah I really don't like him so I change the station and Courtney starts freaking so I turn it back and go downstairs to figure out when dinner will be ready.
