A view of a nice beach that was hit hard by the Tsunami of Dec 2004. It's recovered but swimming is forbidden due to the strong tide action.

    YES TELL THEM OFF

  • can you swim at any beach in Chennai? or, for that matter, anywhere in India?

or are the tides too strong?

what does one do who feels a need to swim?!

  • Its not called St. Tom. The name is Santhome ( a shrine of St. Thomas)

  • I spent a lot of time walking along that beach while in Chennai for work. Interstingly there is kind of a Catholic neighborhood called St. Tom right near the beach with a bunch of Catholic Schools and a shrine. I felt like I was back in Brooklyn. Also a very impressive building accross the street...I think police headquarters...

  • Hmm, well I live in Chennai. In fact, my house is ten minutes from here. My parents go for walks every night. I don't know how you saw it like this, but it's not like this. Garbage truck must have just come by. There's lots of garbeage, dogs, goats, and people on the beaches. Cows tend to stick on the road more.

    xD

  • I saw cows on the beach in Sri Lanka. I think there should be cows on the beach in India. It would be nice.

  • i was there ,a lot of cows in the street

    but not every where
