A request from Mr. Threecreation :D
I venture into new waters here as I review something that's NOT metal!

  • Definitely one of my favourite albums ever. Good review!

  • @bethcabbb Glad you enjoyed it! :D

  • Oh and also something I've always loved about this that I didn't really hear you touch down on is the noise rock aspect of this album. I feel like all the post rock crescendos were taken out and replaced with very harsh noise rock-esq just of guitar. Again, great review and Im glad youre enjoying this.

  • @Threecreation hey thanks a lot man! :D

I had to try with this one because its not my area of expertise lol

but i did enjoy it a lot :)

  • This cd is my full inspiration for music now

  • @mormor39 Dude, it's kinda arrogant of you saying this is one of the most important albums of the century. It's a really good album but no one can give any album of any genre such statuses. It's all just a matter of opinion. Besides he gave a positive review so what are you complaining about?

Also Stairway to heaven sucks. It may have been a highly influential song but that's just my opinion.

  • I like how you compare the songs to landscapes! x

  • you can't qualify "unique" with other adjectives. something can't be "very unique"; it's either unique or it isn't.

  • dude, this is just too embarrassing. This album is one of the most important albums of the century and you claim it has your 'seal of approval'. doesn't that make you seem somewhat arrogant? it's a bit like a teenager saying that he rates Stairway to Heaven. I'm glad you like the album but maybe you should stick to death metal.

  • This sort of hypocenter is mighty difficult to analyze. Still doing so, one becomes even more mesmerized by the beauty of the occult and pure sadness, brother.

    Fantastic review

  • The influence of this album is epic and faaaaaaar reaching! Show me a best album list and Spiderland WILL be there! AND the photo on the cover was taken by Will Olham in a flooded quarry in Kentucky!

  • great job reviewing the album, I never really made the black metal connection but listen to it again I can see where you're coming from. It would be cool to hear what you have to say about Neurosis, considering that they mix sludge metal with some post-rock influence
