The story of how an unassuming little girl rose to be the most powerful woman in the world. At her birth few believed Princess Victoria would ascend the throne, but a number of untimely deaths and the failure of her uncles to father any children meant that Victoria became heiress to the British throne. The battle between her and her mother the Duchess of Kent, however, was to become a fierce maternal struggle, as the duchess schemed to share in the power and riches that would one day be Victoria's.

  • @Varney86 yes they did but still she should of showed her love for them all the same

  • @andreasegde I hope you realize that the so called "speech impediments" are called ascents.

  • @halyie She did not like the idea of childbirth since the kings only child and hire had died in child birth. So it's not like she asked to have that many children it just happened. Her and Albert must have had a pretty good love life.

  • Why do all these women (the ones talking) have speech impediments? Are they related to royalty?

  • Victoria did not deserve to have all those children as she wasnt a much better mother then her mother beofor her

  • Famine Queen.

  • @LaSerpentaCanta Yes it has always exited in German and there were princesses named Victoria before her but she was the first to popularize the name in England by becoming queen.

  • @tribetng you mean the name Victoria exists in the German language? Because her mother was named Victoire.

  • @LaSerpentaCanta Until the Hanoverian's came to England German names, with a few exceptions like Edward and George, (though these were still not that common) had just been out of regular use since the the dark ages simply because in the mean time our monarchs had been French (of one sort or another) Scottish, Welsh and English of French decent but not German its ironic really seeing as we were all spawned by Germans in the first place.

  • I like reading about her and elizabeth 1 I think those are 2 strong women
