    He had nothing to fear because he cowardly fled!

  • An american author wrote about him in his book:

    "Conservative yet highly popular among his countrymen in his time, history has treated him unfairly. No other country in the first half of the 20th century had a leader who is equally vilified by Communists as well as Fascists as Horthy..." Unlike many other Axis leader who were prosecuted, hanged or shot after the war (e.g.: the romanian or slovakian fascists), Horthy had nothing to fear. He died in Estoril, Portugal in 1957. Rest in Peace!
