Looks good, I have a Dutch Oven just like this and I use it for boiling peanuts but now after viewing this it's time for some Bavarian Meatball Stew!
-
Nothing like cake soup after a nice burnt shepherds pie with cowboy coffee. Yours still looks better than mine did though.
-
It'd be nice if you showed how you made it rather than merely lifting the lid off.

Campfire cooking is an art in itself!! Id say 20% ingenuity 30% knowledge and about 50% luck... Unless it's meat..
I Used to flip pancakes over a folgers can when I was a wee-one. Start a small side fire, take a folgers can, cut 2 slats about 3-4 inches down and about 4-5 inches apart. Bend (or cut) the flap. That way u can set the can over the fire and won't smother it. I'm sure u can figure the rest!

That cracks me up! Liquidy Cake! I made an Apple sprite Cake in the Dutch oven Saturday... It was the hit of the party! Check out my blog at woodenbrownies.

Dude...I started cooking when my ex started making crap that looked like that. I since have left and am healthier for it. I guess there is something to be said for the great outdoors and fresh air.
-
Yes indded it is LOL
-
..some dutch oven cookbooks recommend the number of coals on the bottom and on top, for good results, depending on what you are baking, stewing, whatever.
That was the method I learned, that, and have well-seasoned ironware.

There is nothing like the great outdoors
-
Looks good to me!

Tip. Line the oven with tin foil before cooking. It makes KP a lot easier.
-
@Parkyacar lol I thought a dutch oven was when u fart and put ur wifes head under the blankets
-
to hot there. but yes knock off some coals and make sure your dutch oven is also not getting any weak spots to cause hot spots in the cooking which would also leave to burning,
-
looks great to me! It probably taste better than any cake you have had! Eatin outdoors always taste the best!!! Keep up the great work!

-

For some reason I always mess up dutch oven cakes. Maybe too many coals on the bottom because my cakes always come out burnt.
