the french version is no doubt very powerful.

@timauthe I mean, it might not be the language he's used the most throughout his life, but he's definitely fluent... and about the song translation, it isn't that easy to translate it and make it fit into the music!

@kickrocksscrub fFench is my mother tongue, so I know he's supposed to be bilingual. He can speak french alright, in interviews and that. I just find his accent / flow a little weird. Interestingly he had someone else translate the song...

@colorsmadeoftears He's bilingual in french and english (born in belgium), so yeah, he's french ain't that bad...

La chanson de Hell <3

@faithbaudelaire Actually he only wrote the english version. The french version he had "adapted", rather than accurately translated, by Virginie Despentes, if I remember correctly. Molko's french ain't that good. The french version sounds overly emotional and dark, kinda grandiloquent poetry written by an arrogant goth kid to me. Somehow the english version sounds more pragmatic, realistic and plain to me. Maybe it's the effect languages have on me. Or Molko's half good accent.

@colorsmadeoftears Do you mean the translation in the English version? I find the English one to be annoying as well. I wish that he had wrote the whole song in French.

Are there non-french speakers to find this version better... I speak french but this translation annoys me a little...
