  • Shoot Out The Lights is one of the finest albums you'll ever hear. If you don't have it get it. You'll see just how great Richard and Linda Thompson really were together.

  • Two of the best ..... Richard Thompson still seems to show up everywhere ... what about Linda? The person who calls it twaddle probably thinks Shakespeare is about a guy who is shaking his spear !

  • @DavidfromW5 i believe Richard did write the music for it tho Linda did the Lyrics.

  • @DavidfromW5 I always thought Richard wrote it. It's an amazingly well crafted song. I cam to it via hearing Graham Nash's version. All credit to Linda!

  • Pavanne was written by Linda. Wonderful song.

  • Thanks for the update. She is a major talent.

  • @Baruchyoseph8 - Linda put out a very good album called "Fashionalby Late"- maybe around 1999?. She went thru' a very rough time when Richard went whole hog into Sufi-ism, then left for another woman before the birth of their 3rd child - horrible!....but she remarried a man with wealth, and I guess could breathe a little easier after that. Life is good now, and she has to be proud of her musical children too! RT plays on "..Late" so they are at least getting along OK.

  • One of my favorite songs of ALL time! "Just the Motion".

Richard played this for me in Edinburgh during the Festival back in 1984 and on an Electric guitar... Thank you Nancy Covey for encouraging him to do that for me. It was a memory I will never forget...EVER!

  • Just emotion, just the motion.....

  • @gsjbaldwin I agree whole heartedly!!

  • @e77toe77 I was channel surfing over the weekend and caught the last five minutes or so of a House rerun. I was so gratified that they gave the name of the song and the artists at the end of the episode. Not many shows do, and I'm reduced to crawling around in Google with perhaps one line of the song in an attempt to find it. Delighted to find Just the Motion here. Thanks!
