They respond much more like animals than single insects flying around when in the hive. The level of order is memorising. When swapping old swarms to a new hive, I can find the queen and put her in the new hive, then empty the tens of thousands of workers out of the mucky old hive onto the floor. Some will find the queen, signal to the others and they'll all line up in single file and walk into the new home :P AWESOME!

I also keep bees, and this amuses me very much :D
It is amazing to see tens or hundreds of thousands of them all wandering around, stealing honey from other people's gardens and bringing it back to their pimp hideout

@PhilosopherOnWeed I used to think he was a little arrogant, but then I realized that he's kind of doing subtle self-parody (well, sometimes not-so-subtle), which makes sense coming from Zappa. His whole image is supposed to be this over the top rock God but you aren't supposed to take it seriously and that's the point.

Whatya call a bee that ya step on...Bee Flat! Sorry...that was bad. I actually gave Vai a white T-shirt once with a giant, airbrushed, honey bee on the front. Still have that shirt Vai? :)
