I think the flymentor is great for a beginner because you can get the feeling of flying without worrying about crashing and as your skills improve you can turn off position mode and fly with stabilisation mode only or turn both off. It is however a b*tch to setup properly.

The positioning sensor (ccd) works to an altitude of about 3 metres, then it uses the stabilisation mode only.

It feels much more stable with the FM, but it takes some setting up. It can be configured for either position mode, stabilisation mode or disabled (all controlled via tx). One of the best things I've bought. I discovered after this video that my tail blade holder was loose, that's why the tail is wagging.
