Jon Rose - Waves for Water

Jon Rose, in conjunction with his father Jack, started Waves for Water as a way for traveling surfers to give something back to some of the impoverished towns and villages that they may pass through. Many people around the world lack access to clean drinking water. Waves for Water has sourced a simple, reliable water filter, that allows for the construction of a water filtration system out of inexpensive, rudimentary parts.

A $20 water filter offers the opportunity to supply clean drinking water for up to 10 people for a year or more. Consider allocating a tiny portion of your surf travel budget to Waves for Water. Either buy the filters yourself and bring them with you or make a donation to their ongoing efforts.
