That Bell 47D-1 has an endurance of 1hr 20mins (80 mins). How they got from San Gabriel Canyon to San Pedro is beyond me. Fun show.

That Bell 47D-1 is no match for that Hughes 500C. While that 47 cruises at 55-60kts, that 500 cruises at 120-130kts. Great footage, especially of the L.A. Harbor.

You gotta give props (pun intended) to the cameraman as well for having the guts to stand 10 ft from 2 'dueling' helicoptors inside a hangar. I hope he got a raise!

looks azusa canyon. the good ol' bell 47. I used to go flying in those whenever the los angeles fair was in town. The pilot would park at brackett field and take you up for 10 bucks!! it was great. that was a great eggbeater. No doors and alot of fun.

The pilots who are flying in this scene have to be some of the best in the country. Flying that close in such a tight space is so dangerous. I absolutely loved this show back in the early '80's. I think it only lasted a season or two. I would pay top dollar to get this on DVD. It would be so easy to have the entire series in a boxed set. I've seen alot more obscure tv series that have made their way onto DVD. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will see this show on DVD in the near future.
