  • i enjoyed the gig, they wasnt very punk but it was fun

  • Not the Boomtown Rats. This is "The Rats" which has two of the original band members, Simon Crowe and Garry Roberts. Bob Geldof is sorely missed.

  • @malcolmyoungscat he wasn't kicked off for being abusive. In fact, rare anyone gets kicked off I normally piss them off long before. Not sure about the several others though. Not how I remember it.

  • @markboylepotb woof woof

  • @malcolmyoungscat . Still lying through your back teeth I see!

Actually I and several others walked in disgust because ArrGee was happy to be the poodle of a FAKE Boomtown Rats for old times sake whilst Tina was found out as not having a clue what was happening with Geldof, rendering her whole 'contact with Geldof's management' persona a joke.

Now he's left with a forum five other bingo-wingers at best attend - hope it was worth selling his soul for!

  • @markboylepotb I hear Roberts has been asked to play guitar on that album. Anyone reading your embittered hogwash can draw his or her own conclusions. You were kicked off the official Boomtown Rats forum for being abusive and I will not be responding to you again.

  • @malcolmyoungscat.

The 'credits' on the record state exactly the contribution insofar as each member of the band signed up and agreed to. No one put a gun to their heads over it. As for 'dishonest', come into the real world! Crowe and Roberts are a couple of chancers trying to fleece the old fans - the real deal, Bob Geldof & Pete Briquette have an album out in May. And spare us the 'keyboard warrior' stuff, you sad little virgin!

  • The credits on the records do not reflect the contributions made by the individuals. They might even be dishonest - see the Whiter Shade of Pale case. If Roberts and Crowe want to play the songs they helped to create they don't need permission from the likes of you. I've seen them and they were great. They never pretended to be The Boomtown Rats. Nor was there ever any injunction. Have had the courage to raise your objections with them face to face? I thought not.

  • @malcolmyoungscat. Actually, the credit on the records show otherwise - only six of the Boomtown Rats songs failed to have Geldof accredited to them, 3 by Johnny Fingers and one by Crowe and Cott respectively, and one joint Briquette/Crowe. The remaining 70 or so were Geldof, with about 5 of those with one other co-writer. Crowe's story to the NOTW was NOT in 'Is That It' & you know it. Crowe and Roberts are a complete disgrace trying to fleece fans with a very bad 'tribute' act.

  • You are a tiresome ignorant disgrace. For your information, Geldof went to see them at The Electric Ballroom last December. They are all old friends, which is how the BTRs came about in the first place. That is nonsense about "the other four's legal team". You don't know what you're talking about and probably never will.

  • @markboylepotb You're full of excrement old markyboy. Those guys created those songs - BG didn't write them on his own, so surely they have a right to play them. One of them (not both) did tell a grubby story to some paper, but he didn't say anything that wasn't already in Bob's autobiog. Get your facts right. I've seen them live and, while Roberts might be a bit fat now, they sound great. You're the one who comes across as a loser, mate.
